I found a florist selling bouquets of flowers with glitters on them. So nice! It’s actually more glittery in real life. <3

I popped by erjie’s house before our mother’s day dinner. She was blow-drying Ben after his shower. Gawd this pup has grown SO MUCH and he’s only eight months old! Blow-drying him already took about an hour…. Not sure how big he’ll grow!

We brought the dogs and the kids back to my house to celebrate mother’s day with our mum! Unfortunately the pictures I took are mostly that of my beloved niece, who is neither my mother nor a mother. I hope not. Hahahahahahaha.

She has grown into such a fine young lady. Well Phyllis.. Remember I told you that you can get your mum a son-in-law for her birthday present? Well, I’m not joking. ^-^

Mr. Piggy and I went cycling at Pulau Ubin! There’s a huge crowd at the jetty, but luckily we still managed to get on the boat to Pulau Ubin after queuing for about 10 minutes. (I didn’t know Ubin has become so popular…)

The weather in the morning is glorious~~ <3 We also saw a mother boar (well "mother" is a guess) with her babes (about 6~8 of them) near Chek Jawa. The piglets are cute (they're sooooo small!) but too bad I only caught the mum on camera.

We were caught in the downpour but we continued cycling anyways.. It was actually very comfortable to cycle in the rain. :D It has been a long while since I got drenched in the rain. Hehe.

What’s in my bag!!!

(Well I’m doing this because I finally bought the inspired motor bag from Gmarket and I love it!! The quality is better than I had expected and this alone already made my day. :D)

The things I normally bring to work with me:
- Umbrella
- Office pass
- Key pouch
- EZ-Link card pouch
- Coin pouch
- Wallet
- E-book reader
- Phone

Speaking of which, I have changed my phone to LG Prada 3.0 because it looks goooodddd. (And it works alright so far.)

The only irritating thing? I can’t seem to shut off the camera shutter sound, even with camera replacement apps that are supposed to take photos silently. Not much choices to root Android 2.3.7 around (that doesn’t involve flashing the phone). I might have to live with it… T___T

My good friend XT is finally tying the knot with her boyfriend after ten years of courtship! I feel so happy for her! When she asked me to be her “sister” for the wedding day, I said yes immediately~ :)

So anyway, I managed to take an off day from my work on Friday (9 Mar) so me and Roz accompanied the bride-to-be for nail appointment!

I chose a nautical theme for my nails, but I have no idea why the girls seem to think it’s very “happening”.. Quite 低调 to me already..

Afterwards, we headed to her house for some preparation work for the gatecrashing games on the next day.

It was the standard 酸甜苦辣..

1) Sour – Lemon slices with X I A O Y Z alphabets written on each slice. Each of the brothers and the groom will hold one slice in the mouth and the groom is supposed to to know how to rearrange them lah.. (XIAOYZ is supposed to be a code between the lovebirds, lol.)

2) Sweet – Marshmallows topped with condensed milk and sugar. I see already I want to puke. :X

3) Bitter – Bittergourd juice.

4) Spicy – Collon biscuits filled with wasabi!

The preparation work for the first three are close to none, but we have to spend some time doing #4, and that’s what we did!

At the end of the gatecrashing, the groom is supposed to read out this love pledge and provide his fingerprints for evidence. (Here’s a shoutout to my mui: Thank you for helping me print this from your office… Hahaha)

The morning after was quite hectic and I don’t have much chance to take photos.. But here are the few that I managed to snap.

We have a break in the middle of the day so I went to Roz’s house to freshen up. Here’s her pet rabbit Messy! He’s a bit cold to me, but I still think he’s cute! And his fur feels so gooddddddddd.

We went to the hotel for the preparation of the evening banquet.

The ROM ceremony was held inside the banquet hall because it was drizzling outdoors. After the ROM ceremony, we are preparing for the guests to stream in for the dinner.

The angpao box was decorated by PW!! She’s so talented!

Mr. Piggy and myself managed to go to Dinosaurs Live! at Science Centre one weekend before it ends.

Because we had such an enjoyable time at the CSI exhibition at Science Centre last time, we were having high hopes on this show.. OK lah, you can’t compare an orange to an apple but I still can’t help feeling disappointed. The whole exhibition is as boring as this blog post. T__T

That being said, I think it might be awesome for kids though. :)

We also bought the tickets to watch a show at the Omni-theatre. Our choice: Journey Into Amazing Caves. And it was amazing indeed. Highlight of my trip. :)

So while she’s on her work trip, I bought a calculator from Daiso ($2, wahahahaha) and spent 4 hours working on this mini surprise. :D

I got him the Cocoon’s Grid-It Wrap (7 inch version for tablets and nook).

Speaking of which, it was such a CHORE trying to get this. There’s a supplier bringing Cocoon’s products into Singapore yes, but not for this particular model. The Cocoon products sold on Gmarket Singapore are from the supplier itself, so no luck with this either. If I wanted to buy it from Cocoon’s website or Amazon – the shipping is ridiculously expensive. (Shipping is ~1.5x the price of the item.)

In the end, I found it on Gmarket Korea. HOORAY~

I’m sure my method is unorthodox and the best way is still to let a professional do the job.. But well. A cheapo’s got to do what a cheapo does.

I have:
1) Gel remover that I bought for no reason in Hong Kong.. (yeah talk about impulse buys)
2) Aluminium foil, torn into the size as pictured
3) Cotton pads, cut into smaller sizes
4) 4-sided nail buffer
5) Cuticle stick

I did:
1) Wet the cotton pad completely with the gel remover, placed it over my nail
2) Wrap my finger (with the cotton pad) with aluminium foil
3) Repeat for the other fingers (I can’t seem to do both hands at once, so I only did five fingers at a time)
4) Wait for 20 minutes
5) Unwrap aluminium foil to check of polish has came off, re-wrap if required
6) Use cuticle stick to push the polish off if required
7) Buff nails
8) I don’t have cuticle oil, so I just apply some hand cream after that

My gelish polish did get removed, but it was such a big hassle. =.= Guess I’ll stick to conventional nail polish for now! :D

I was sitting at a bus stop, waiting for my usual morning bus to work when I realised the sunlight makes nice refractions through the crystals on my phone cover. :)

And this is taken on my way out of my work place. I love finding random paw prints on the ground. They are so adorable! Wonder how the doggie reacts after stepping on the wet cement…

I bought apple scented candles from Ikea. Love the aroma~

And.. I have detailed pictures of this! Maybe I’ll do another post when my laptop has recovered. I blinged this calculator ($2, from Daiso) for mui when she was off for a work trip to Taiwan! Nice surprise for her when she’s back. :D

My laptop died.

The screen turned black while I was using it and it refused to boot up again. It’s funny that some people have the perception that I must be good with hardware stuff since I’m a programmer and such, but truth be told – I’m a hopeless case. Yes I know how to replace RAM and unplug/plug cables and am not afraid to do so, but that’s about all I can do. I know nuts about troubleshooting. :/

SIGH. Bringing it to for repair tomorrow. HOPEFULLY it can be revived. I have a lot of photographs inside which I have yet to back up!!!!!!!11 *cries
